History: In the time of Perseus, Bellerophon, and other great Ancient Greek heroes, Anastasia was the first demigod daughter of Poseidon. And to date the only demigod daughter of Poseidon.
Born in the time of Perseus, she grew powerful until one day she defeated Ares in battle, and eventually even Perseus and Bellerophon fell to her. But it wasn't long until the gods began to fear her growing power. There had never been a female warrior like her before, never a female child of Poseidon. They didn't know what to expect from her in the future. Knowing her death would greatly anger Poseidon they cursed her to true immortality instead. Something Poseidon could not undo by himself. Anastasia has wondered by herself since then. She is a legend never spoken of by the Greeks but accepted by the Romans. She has fought with the Romans and they praised her so much they thought her a goddess for she did not die, nor age. For her curse did not allow it. Soon, she became known as the warrior goddess to them - Nerio. She even had a temple and any children born of her were sent to Rome to be raised. The Roman gods allowed this, ever so different from their Greek counterparts, a small penance for their counterparts mistakes. Over the years she has had little contact with the Greeks, but has periodically visited the Roman Camp, wherever it may be. NERIO - Latin for wife of Mars. Powerful. She has been known to change her name every century or so. By the time she was in Rome it was Nerio, which in Greek is usually a boys name, and was the name of her little brother before who she has no seen or know what became of after she was cursed. Ananerio - a longer form of the name she used while in Rome. Though the Romans only knew her and called her as Nerio. Currently, in the modern age of Western Civilization she is known as Percy, or Persis Jackson, a name she has used for the last five centuries. 1223 BC - 1205 BC:
Anastasia, or Percy as she calls herself in modern times, has had many identities. Some are well known through history, even if no one realizes it's her. After she was cursed she stayed as long as she could, before it just became to painful. Leaving she traveled. It was over three hundred years before she settled in Sparta for a while. While there she used the mist to make herself a family of sorts, so it wouldn't seem odd she was a woman on her own. She became Leda, a name she'd been using for a few decades by this time. Eventually she met the King, Tyndareus and before the year was up she married him. Becoming Queen of Sparta. Two years later in 1219 BC she stumbled upon a fleeing swan from an eagle. She thought it was strange but she decided to rescue it. She found out later the swan had been Zeus in disguise, and soon after she had Helen, Clytemnestra, Castor and Pollux. Helen, Castor and Pollux was Zeus' children, while Clytemnestra was her husbands, King Tyndareus' daughter. She went on to have three more children with her husband, Timandra (Τιμάνδρα), Phoebe (Φοίβη), and Philonoe (Φιλονόη). All three were daughters. Phoebe and Philonoe went on to become Hunters of Artemis. Only Phoebe is still alive. Percy faked her death as Leda, Queen of Sparta in 1205, not long before the Trojan War. 835 BC - 800 BC:
After she left Sparta, and regretfully her children behind, Percy went back to using Anastasia for a while, and over the years she changed her name as she went. Eventually she began using Dido-Elissa (Alyssa to some). This was in 835 BC, and she stumbled upon another place she could call home in Tyre. It was a nice place and she decided to use the mist to make it seem as if she were the daughter of the King, Mutgo. Soon enough she married, Acerbas, a Tyrian priest of Hercules, though they had no children. There wasn't very much time for that anyways. Her husband was possessed of considerable wealth, which, knowing the avarice of Pygmalion (Elissa's brother), who had succeeded his father, he concealed in the earth. Pygmalion, who heard of these hidden treasures, had Acerbas murdered, in hopes that through his sister he might obtain possession of them. But the prudence of Elissa saved the treasures, and she emigrated from Phoenicia. They landed, founding the city of Carthage. It was here she dropped the name Elissa or Alyssa as some accounts have it, and began going as Dido, Queen and founder of Carthage. It was only a few years before she once again faked her own death, this time though she did it to escape a marriage she did not want. |
